Catch All Your Favorite Music Videos On Satellite Tv

If there is one thing Michael Jacksonâ??s untimely death reminded the country of, it was what an incredible artist he was. With all the scandal in recent years it was easy to forget what a revolutionary force he was in pop music. He also reminded a country who had grown used to seeing nothing but reality TV on MTV and VH1 about the long-last art of the music video. Luckily, with satellite TV there are many TV stations dedicated solely to music videos where you can rediscover these videos. Here are some of the best:

Beginning with Michael Jackson, there are so many videos to choose from. Three stand out in particular though. The first, of course, is Thriller, the alpha and the omega of music videos. Michael was the first to realize that videos were a true art form and could be used almost as mini-movies. Indeed, when it first came out, Thriller was even shown in movie theaters. Thriller generally tops all lists of greatest music videos of all time, and it is easy to see why, with the complete story, the incredible make-up and the wonderful dancing. Billy Jean, with its iconic lit sidewalks, and Smooth Criminal, with the famous â??leanâ?, also bear mentioning again because of their roles as vehicles for displaying Michaelâ??s incredible dancing talent. While these videos may not be shown on MTV anymore, they live in perpetuity on classic music video channels on satellite TV.

Now, Michael Jackson may have been the godfather of music videos but he was not the only one who knew how to make a brilliant video. Peter Gabrielâ??s â??Sledgehammerâ?, with its clay animation and brilliant use of colors, shapes and motion, is also revolutionary, even if the song itself is not as good as Michael Jacksonâ??s.

Other videos are wonderful for their simplicity. For example, who will ever forget the image of the Beatles playing Get Back on the rooftop? This was before the days of technology such as high definition, 3D and CGI, yet it is as iconic as anything that has been made in the many years since. The video is a simple visual representation of the beauty and power of music. Of course this was more of a concert than a music video, but since their rooftop rendition of Get Back has essentially been made into a music video it merits inclusion in this discussion.

Another video which is perhaps one of the most important, even if not in any way technically â??goodâ?, is the one Britney Spears made for â??Baby One More Timeâ?. This video ushered in Britneyâ??s decade long reign as pop princess and also kicked off the trend of boy bands and teeny boppers that would last well into the twentyfirst century. Although this video is more than ten years old, thanks to Britney every Halloween party always includes at least one girl dressed up in a Catholic school girlâ??s uniform, in addition to the regular sports stars, French maids, kittens, sexy nurses and other classic costumes.
